Prof. Borka Jerman Blažič has published the book Don Quixote in Slovenia, or How the Internet Arrived in Slovenia, published by e-Besede. The book is a detailed narrative account of research in the field of computer networks that contributed to the development of the network now known as the Internet.

The book examines the course of research in computer networks and presents the long-lasting "war between protocol stack repositories" that took place among academics on both sides of the Atlantic and in Europe. This war delayed the development and arrival of the Internet in Europe until 1991, when the server–user communication model emerged victorious as the fundamental mode of communication in Internet networks. The advantages of this model, as presented in the book, are the interfaces for connecting to the underlying network infrastructure, which can be composed of solutions from various technologies. The book highlights that the Internet has no central administrator, as the only centralized structure in the Internet is the Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure, which provides the mapping between mnemonic names, such as "www.ijs.si", and numeric Internet addresses.

In the second part of the book, the author presents events in Slovenia before and during independence, which coincided with actions to establish the first Internet network in the country and its inclusion in the global Internet. The book is supplemented by 100 original documents from that period.
