The Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks of the Jožef Stefan Institute obtained five new research projects from the 7th EU Framework Programme and the ISEC (Prevention of and fight against crime) programme in 2013. Two of the projects received the highest evaluation scores among more than 100 submitted proposals: EmployID in technology-enhanced learning and COURAGE in security.
The goals of the COURAGE, REDIRNET and DFET projects are to analyse research gaps and prepare proposals for measures to reduce cybercrime, establish infrastructure through which emergency services will share measurements, information and data, and prepare a cloud-based platform for testing and teaching digital forensics. The EmployID project will develop new technologies and solutions for more effective education and training in public administration, and within the RENATECH project the researchers' night was already organised in September 2013.
Activities in the COURAGE, REDIRNET, EmployID and DFET projects will begin at the beginning of 2014.
