In 2018 the European Commission set up a special fund within the Horizon 2020 programme to fund centres of excellence in the field of cybersecurity. Among the four centres selected in the tender was CONCORDIA, coordinated by the German research institute CODE. The Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks of the Jožef Stefan Institute has also joined the centre.
CONCORDIA focuses on research and development of solutions for a safe, resilient and trusted European ecosystem. Laboratory staff will carry out research and development within the centre in the fields of confidentiality, electronic identity management, user-friendly services for e-health needs, and smart solutions for preventing cyber threats.
