On 10–11 November 2020, the 26th Slovenian Science Festival with international participation was held under the title "Science and Technology Face the Challenges of the Times". The Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks of the Jožef Stefan Institute, with the support of the e-Research Environments infrastructure group, enabled the Slovenian Science Foundation to implement the virtual event.
This year's festival was held in a hybrid form, via the internet, due to measures against the spread of coronavirus.
The patron of the festival was Mag. Violeta Bulc, former European Commissioner.
