E5 – LABORATORY FOR OPEN SYSTEMS AND NETWORKS

Connecting Europe Facility (CEF)

The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is a key EU funding instrument to promote growth, jobs and competitiveness through targeted infrastructure investment at European level. It supports the development of high performing, sustainable and efficiently interconnected trans-European networks in the fields of transport, energy and digital services.

Our laboratory is involved in setting up of an infrastructure for secure cross-border services in different application domains. The activities were performed in two CEF projects:

eID4U (eID for University) – In the eID4U project, secure cross-border services (e-registration, e-login and e-access) are being established that can be used by national means of electronic identification.

SI-PASS (Slovenian eIDAS node and integrated services) – The project has built a production ready Slovenian eIDAS node and integrated four existing public and one private cross-border e-services with the node. The services belong to the eHealth, intellectual property systems, e-Pension, public legal records, and business transactions domains.
