Ljubljana, 27 November – Slovenia is marking the 25th anniversary since getting linked into the internet. On 27 November 1991, the first IP packets from Ljubljana were sent to the web via a router at the Dutch Subatomic Physics Institute.

On 15.11.2015 with a kick off meeting organized by the Laboratory for Open systems and Networks started the EU project “Criminal Justice Access to Digital Evidences in the Cloud – LIVE_FORensics” (LIVE_FOR). The project funded by DG Justice of European Commission is coordinated by the Laboratory of Open Systems and Networks. Main objectives of the project are research and development of digital forensic methods to be applied in cloud computing and preparation of training curriculum for education of persons involved in investigations that required cross-border collection of digital evidences and witness reports.

In November 2016 we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Internet international line in Slovenia. The anniversary will be celebrated with an event being part of the Information Society multiconference. The event will be held on October 10 2016 at Jožef Stefan Institute in the Main lecture hall.

Mykolas Romeris University and Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks are organizing the 1st annual conference “Empowering EU Security Research through co-innovation, co-creation and co-implementation” in a framework of SENTER project („Strengthening European Network Center of Excellence in Cybercrime“). The project aims to create a sustainable international cross-organizational partnership in the area of fight against cybercrime. The conference will be held on October 19 – 21, in Vilnius, Lithuania.
