COMPACT Project is an H2020 EU funded Coordination and Support Action Bridging Eastern and Western Europe for better social media regulation in a converged environment. COMPACT calls for and facilitates a wide-ranging discussion on the pressing issues and the policies being developed in relation to social media and content convergence. It provides knowledge support to stakeholders, analyses the current regulatory landscape and drafts a set of recommendations on future polices and regulatory frameworks in social media and content convergence. Moreover, it seeks to provide research on and experience-exchange of policy and regulation strategies in order to support the R&D digital programs by spreading innovative ideas and challenges in research on social media convergence. The project supports and facilitates a multi-stakeholder dialogue as an enabler for an informed debate and actionable results. To this end, more than 10 Symposiums are envisaged across Europe for an all-encompassing debate and dissemination of the project results.
The Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks is leading the work on policies and regulatory landscapes and drafting a set of policy recommendations in social media and content convergence for all of the the relevant stakeholders.
